KOBORI ENSHU RYU is a Samurai Tea Ceremony originated by Kobori Enshu-ko (Masakazu). ENSHU RYU has a few schools. KOBORI ENSHU RYU is one of them, which started when Enshu ko gave it to his brother Masayuki. It teaches the tradition of Enshu to this day. Enshu Tea Ceremony is praised as “Beautiful SABI”. Representative architecture are Kohoan Bosen in Kyoto Daitokuji, Konchi-in Hasso-in in Kyoto Nanzenji, and so on. He was a man of literature who respected Fujiwara no Sadaie, and was deeply influenced by the aesthetic of dynasty culture. His profound knowledge of art can be recognized from many utensils of Enshu taste.
