Sasaki Shachu Hatsugama at “Kourakuan” on January 14th, 2024

Kobori Enshu-ryu, Sasaki Soichi Sensei's "Hatsugama -first kettle- celebrating new year," was held at "Kourakuan". This was a cheerful gathering, students from Higashi-kitazawa school and Ginza school get together.

I demonstrated "Sumi-temae," which is a procedure of laying charcoal in sunken hearth. When added charcoal and incense in sunken hearth, everyone in tea room start smelling incense, calming down, and refreshing mind.

After the meal, we had thick tea and thin tea. We had a great time until the final lucky draw.
