A hot summer day has begun. Sprinkling water in the Roji brought a moment of relief, then Roji soon dries again.
In the tea room, when poured warter from the Mizusashi into the kettle, the sound of the boiling water (Shorai) stops for a moment. Even this little silence brought coolness in the room.
Today, a member of the Urasenke school came to visit for observing lesson. It is a great pleasure and encouragement to have friends through other school to share tea way.
The flowers on the alcove is Sotan Mukuge. It's also known as Sokobeni, this has white petals with a reddish-purple center.
For sweets, prepared Manten (Saiundo Confectionery, Matsue).
